@will_j_5 There’s a third issue lol. ESPN uses σ = √((U_home² + U_away²)/2) but the spread of the margin between two independent teams is √(U_home² + U_away²), with no /2. This partly cancels out the first error, so before kickoff, ESPN's spread is about 2.1× too wide rather than 3×
