The 3 Major Regrets of HSFB Seniors:
1) "I should have worked harder." Whether it's sprints, scout team, off season lift or film room, everyone knows, deep down, if they're truly giving it their all.
2) "I should have appreciated it more." You get 4 years of HSFB, maybe 4-5 more of CFB and then that's it. Finito. All over. You can complain about what you don't have, or take a moment to appreciate the teammates, the wins (and losses) and memories you do have.
3) "I should have been a better teammate." Did you have your teammates' backs, even the ones you weren't great friends off the field with? Did you look out for them as much off the field as you did on?
Senior year is when most young people experience the finitude of life - it's when they experience the reality that things they love won't always last.
Endings are painful, bittersweet even.
The only way to lessen this pain is look back knowing you truly worked as hard as you could have, appreciated as much as you could have and been the best teammate you could've been.
