@Mont_Jiang Plus, we had the easiest group in our World Cup history with our most talented squad members ever. After the first win we had like 90%+ odds to advance.
@Mont_Jiang T, I didn’t expect you to join in on dog piling on us 😭Don’t you appreciate how much a competent manager matters? Korean fans were so outraged at Hong’s appointment 2 yrs ago that the National Assembly had to summon the head of the KFA to give him a (performative) tongue lashing
@PartyintheUSSA@raptorsringszn2 Yeah, even Koreans are starting to warm towards the Japanese. China might be the last hold out. Then again, I’m starting to see more hostility to the Japanese from SE Asia and the third world. Perhaps emboldened by Japan’s waning power..
@thepavoreal@RoofTopMariner Korean fans were actually worried that a decent showing would paper over the massive cracks in the foundation and delay an overhaul of the KFA.
@Smokin0nReefer Fingers crossed, god-willing, if Lady Luck shines on us that day? Yes. But most Korean footy fans expected to at least get out of the easiest group in our WC history. And it’s not just the early exit, but the impotent and pussyfooting manner in which we did it.
@kangminlee Please stfu. You constantly bring shame to Koreans and gyopos. I don’t know how you manage to do it, but almost everyone—here and abroad, along every slice of the political spectrum—thinks you’re a tool.
@chxxju@tastefullysaucy Not even the quarterfinals. Most Korean fans I know and Korean YouTube journalists/experts were expecting to get out of the group and optimistically hoping to reach the round of 16.
@morris_que14@Moonheart158113 I think you guys are talking past each other. You’re talking about mandibular prognathy and moonheart is talking about robusticity. I think you’re both correct in that regard.
@sine_e10n I know her and Park Chanho gave hope and courage to Koreans during the IMF crisis. It didn’t occur to me that using loaded language (even sarcastically) in reference to a photo from a sensitive time period could result in insult. I’m sorry 😓
@sine_e10n 괜찮아요, 제가 오해를 살 만하게 글을 쓴 데에도 잘못이 있었어요. I didn’t mean to insult her at all. As a gyopo growing up in the 90s I had few Korean heroes to look up to. She was the first athlete that I was able to see myself in and help me to be more proud in my identity.
@Antonio29040389@amenochihare897 Yeah, I agree. I don’t like those attacks coming from my side. This flame war has gotten out of hand and I can’t wait for it to end.
