Thunderstorms are possible today, and there is even an isolated strong thunderstorm chance. Seeing a cluster of storms moving in up west now (as of 1:50 p.m. ADT). I know a lot of folks are outside cleaning up and repairing damage, but please head indoors a 1st sound of thunder!

When clearing branches and trees in your yard, do NOT attempt to cut down trees near power lines, including downed lines. Hiring a qualified utility arborist is always the best option. If a tree does fall on a line, assume the tree and line are energized and call 1-800-670-1012.

Capital Drive and North River Rd leading into the Esso are backed up a long way. It’s a similar scene at other gas stations that are open. One driver told me he’s been waiting since 5 am to fill up.

Yesterday, crews were able to restore power to approx. 4,500 customers, including the QEH and essential fuel supply. While we are not currently able to provide restoration times for individual areas, crews are working as quickly as possible to safely restore power.

Wellington and Morell Co-ops are open. Morell is cash-only. (The Tignish co-op was previously open but is now closed)
