Thanks to Amy and all from @RecoatGallery , severine from @AntonineWall for the help, and @AlRawli form @HistEnvScot for helping to access 3d scans of the artefacts. Also @skintrichie for painting assistance, and @ColinJTennant for amazing photos
Was a pleasure to be working with @Recoat again for the @antoninewall project, 5 artworks that celebrate and map The Antonine Wall across Scotland.
This new mural in Kirkintilloch is inspired by drawings created by local young people.
in this still life, objects chosen as they were found nearby, have been arranged in front of the wall in a dramatically lit museum-like scene. Front and centre, painted on plinths not only as an act of reverence but to elevate them beyond the roofs of the cars that park in front
Here’s a peek at some lino prints and marbling that was happening yesterday at our Room for Art Group @WHALE__arts in Wester Hailes. The workshop was led by artist @fraser_gray who has 3D printed a printmakers press! #artandwellbeing#artandhealth
I might be bias, but @JeniAllison is doing some amazing things to innovate in the knit industry. After previous successes with machine knit tech, she’s now creating an app for customising hand knit patterns and is looking for backers to get it out into the world 🌎
Bit of a challenge with a tight turn around, and getting covid half way through didn’t help but got there in the end. Special thanks to Sam Chapman and theinstall team, who had to pull out all the stops to get in on the wall in time!
'Stage Set' - a new permanent commission for @Summerhallery 's courtyard by Martin and I. We drew inspiration from a moment most of us have had at the festivals - we are an audience member to a show in which we have booked tickets to despite nothing absolutely nothing about.
We are sitting there there, the stage is lit and the show is about to start. All we have is the surreal collection of props and staging leaving us to wonder what exactly we are about to experience. It is this feeling we are trying to capture in our mural.
