The Cherries have held a long-standing interest in the Sassuolo centre-back, with that interest now appearing to progress further.

Sassuolo are believed to value the 22-year-old at around €35m, and are already exploring potential replacements ahead of an expected summer departure.

Bournemouth could face competition from both Tottenham Hotspur and Como for his signature.

@BSNFFC Yeah CL wise it's out of our hands to a large extent now, though a repeat of the Dean Court game last year and a 1-0 loss for Liverpool could lead to a 1 off neutral playoff under rule C17.1 of premier League handbook. Yes I'm very nerdy when it comes to that kind of thing!
