I have been rereading several Japanese Supreme Court opinions for a research project. It brings home the U.S. Supreme Court's failure to follow precedent and its judicial overreach over the last few years. Stare decisis (following precedent) is not required for the Japanese Supreme Court but they do a much better job of it than SCOTUS has since 2022.
