@jamgtfc It does. If the left sided centra back is right footed, he can’t play the diagonal in the same way so the left back would have to hold his position and 2 midfielders drop slightly deeper allowing their team to press higher.

Pains me to say it but we have to take Mcjannet out of the team. He’s been way off it and teams play in behind him. If he wasn’t left footed, I think he’d have been dropped earlier. Would like Pruti to be given a chance next to Maldini #gtfc

@MikeyMcMahon I liked it. They both come inside and receive the ball which allows the full backs to be higher up the pitch and create overloads, which is why we played so well second half

@DavePhillips19 I think he’s good and has been good but his form dipped end of last season and he hasn’t got going again this season. I think him playing the long diag more is maybe a lack of confidence. A stint out of the team with the depth we have isn’t a bad thing

@zack_UTM @Kron_Delly17 The ‘long ball’ is a pattern of our play. The ball on his left allows Sweeney to come inside and leave Chaz able to recurve the ball with space in front of him, or if teams push up, the ball to the RW to get an overload that side.

@Jared_Hickson The reason he is in the team (apart from his defending) is for the balance at the back and as we draw other teams accross, he is capable of the big switch to get a 1v1 winger v fullback.I think defensively he’s been poor and did cost us last season and has been poor so far #GTFC

@mattdannatt I think the issue will be the length of contract he is on having signed in the summer. Not only will York have to pay that up front (or at least a large proportion of it in a lump sum), we’ll have to improve upon it to make it appealing.

I feel it for Amaluzor. He has all the raw materials (pace, physicality etc) and works hard but I just don’t think he’s good enough. A winger has to have an end product in the final third and he just doesn’t. Had a great pre-season but still looks short on confidence #GTFC
