The situation is exacerbated hugely by long waiting times and lack of support. But in many cases, problems for children begin due to traumatic birth, possibly causing #PrimitiveRetainedReflexes.

@mgordonwalker @BBCr4today 💯 Maggie; the report correctly points out the need for an entire system overhaul. It won’t happen overnight, but we must get into preventative measures earlier. We keep treating the product, not the cause. This must change, otherwise we’re building on sand.

Just listening to a piece on @BBCRadio4 about birth rates in the UK - a report from the ONS showing deaths now outnumber births. Is anyone surprised?! I write this as CEO of a struggling charity supporting #mothers @MothersUncoverd that has received yet another funding knockback
