my first time riding Austin’s lowest ridership route, the 214, which snakes over & through the Hill Country once an hour through probably the best scenery by bus.
It connects the far away member cities of Lago Vista & Jonestown with Austin’s Commuter Rail line
takes around an hour end to end, with some of the only remaining CapMetro bus stops w/o a concrete ADA accessible pad.
Also lots of fun (somewhat scary) unprotected left turns to deviate into neighborhoods just off the highway.
Overall a very relaxing ride, def recommend!
one of Texas’s only queue jumps🚦
A short bus only lane & a special bus only signal allows the bus to get a head start & cut in front of long lines of traffic
@RAILMag I think the Austin Steam Train Association runs some vintage excursion trains (which are not steam trains) out of their depot in Cedar Park along the CapMetro owned Red Line commuter rail tracks
submit your feedback about massive pedestrian/bike improvements on cesar chavez between pleasant valley & shady lane
proposed upgrades include an urban trail, extra crossings, and protected bike lanes

🚦Ever notice the Rapid A-Line bus getting a head start at a traffic light?
That's called a Queue Jump Signal, and it’s designed to help buses move through traffic more efficiently and stay on schedule.

We tried the new Rapid A-Line Bus! 🚌
It’s the perfect cool Sunday to get outside! 😎 I took my new rollerblades from Midtown to downtown along the @ATLStreetsAlive route (I only fell once), to meet friends and try out the new @MARTAtransit rapid bus line!
Korea's crosstown express buses usually colored a shade of red but Busan uses orange are wild. The route I'm on runs radial east out from Busan's old center for over 30km and skips stops in some sections. Yet it comes every 10 mins all day and even runs overnight.
