Lobo Antunes. A man with a deep soul and a beautiful, sad tenderness.
He was a psychiatrist, before writing took over.
Journalist: "you learned to unravel the human mind..."
"Do psychiatrists understand the human mind? No it is life that teaches us to understand each other"
About a quarter of “healthy” young adults think they have ADHD (28%), according to new research. But that number jumped to more than half (58%) after they received an ADHD awareness campaign based on popular ADHD advocacy groups’ material. worrying? https://t.co/vBfLIETfdg
@markhoro @PloederlM Is there any distinction for efficacy based on severity? There is a sense in adults that with graver forms of illness the treatment separates more clearly from placebo
All self-help in the literature section. No time for stories, you need to be improving yourself.
Maybe "self-help" sections should be replaced with "help your neighbour" sections and then we wouldn't need them as much.

“What I wanted was to manage myself out of my emotions rather than feel them, to hack my life rather than live it – and that makes for a shallower existence, not a better one”. On what constitutes proper therapy 👇 https://t.co/MDe02ytqGW
@JDaviesPhD Having said that, it is important that we are doctors, because hyperthyroidism can be a cause of manic presentation, encephalitis can present as psychosis, depression can present as pseudodementia, anorexia is often life-threatening etc etc...
@JDaviesPhD A psychiatrist practicing psychiatry as if it were any other specialty is not doing it right.
It is very different from most other specialties. A complete outlier.
