Veho has proven to have excellent delivery speed and performance. If you are using ShipHero in your warehouse and are in an area where Veho picks up, I recommend you use them.
@ItamarZur@frederickcook are doing great work.
@Techstars is stopping their Boulder accelerator to focus on the larger metros. I shared my thoughts with the Colorado Sun (https://t.co/rmZmZIbIE7) and sharing here also:
I did the Techstars NYC program in 2012 and then the Techstars Boulder program in 2019. Having done both, I can definitely attest that, as a founder, the talent and capital in NYC has a higher impact on a company at the earliest stages. Like any customer-centric company, Techstars is making the right move for founders here by focusing on these large metros, and I applaud them for making the hard, if unpopular choice!
As a participant in the Colorado startup ecosystem, I'm not excited that the accelerator is exiting, but Techstars isn't going anywhere (50+ CO employees, new office in Denver, Boulder Startup Week sponsor, participating in CO Quantum Compute initiative, etc.). And while Techstars unquestionably helped accelerate the startup ecosystem in Denver/Boulder, this ecosystem has definitely achieved escape velocity.
Personally, I live in CO, and travel regularly to spend time at Veho HQ in NYC, and am excited about building Veho and mentoring startups in both locations.
Crazy business idea: AWS, but when it goes down, all your stuff automatically fails over to a different availability zone instead of requiring an eng team to do a ton of work to build that resiliency themselves.
Silo spoiler alert: just realized it isn’t a coincidence that the Apple TV show is only a couple of episodes away from their big plot twist involving AR.
Reality TV show I’m sure is being pitched right now: “Love is Blind”, but instead of singles talking to each other through a wall, have contestants open up their entire life’s worth of social media accounts and private chat convos and train a series ChatGPT large language models.
Based on the number of “someday in the metaverse” ads I’m getting on Instagram, guessing Facebook has a ton of unclaimed ad inventory and is self-dealing to keep ad rates stable
Light and Magic on Disney+ is some great tech startup content. First few episodes focus on how the visual effects for Star Wars came together, but it’s all about building the team, solving open-ended problems on a shoestring budget, pushing forward through uncertainty.
🤯 "This slice of the vast universe covers a patch of sky approximately the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length by someone on the ground," https://t.co/cTam4TKq7z
This Carvana article. "Carvana’s operations consumed $593 million in cash during the first quarter, a huge sum for a company that reported cash and equivalents of $247 million at the end of Q1 2022." Which means they would have run out of cash.. today? https://t.co/l7RRDYkkU5
Breaking up amazon would create absurd new value for bezos and shareholders. Like when standard oil got split up - within a few years the sum of the parts was worth something like 5x the pre-breakup market cap
Amazon market cap fell $200B to $1.3T.
AWS itself is worth $1T.
This means the market is valuing Prime, 3rd-Party Seller, Fulfilment Centres, One-Click Checkout, 2-Day Shipping, Logistics, Ads, Marketplace, MGM, James Bond, The Hobbit and Hot Tub Time Machine at only $300B.🤯
@lizgiorgi I think it gets easier when you let it. But you know that if you take it easier then you’ll fail to fully capture the opportunity. So it won’t get easier.
