Worth noting: this was not a mystery regression but a straightforward encounter with documented platform behavior. When a Chromium window is not visible, the page enters a background state in which timer resolution is deliberately coarsened and the JavaScript engine down-shifts into a lower-power execution tier — both intentional, both long-standing, both extensively documented. The application's startup sequence was therefore load-bearing on scheduling guarantees the platform explicitly declines to provide to hidden windows. The remediation was to signal, at boot, that the window's invisibility is temporary and its work is not optional.
