I'm a white South African and I have literally zero problems with BEE. But hey, what would a white man (Elon) that benefitted from a wealthy upbringing during apartheid know about it?
Calling BEE anti-white is anti-intellectual. You're just unhappy that you can't get your starlink empire to expand to a country you happily left. Good riddance too
The U.S. expressed that it is deeply disappointed by Rwanda’s continued escalation of the conflict, which constitutes a direct violation of its obligations under the Washington Accords. The U.S has reiterated its call for the immediate withdrawal of Rwandan troops. The sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of the DRC must be respected.
UPDATE: DR Congo elected to UN Security Council as non-permanent member. Together with Liberia, they were the only campaigning members, making the seats assured. Kinshasa's two-year tenure starts January 2026.

🌍 "The Rwanda-DRC peace deal must include the voices of the voiceless."
A powerful, timely, and deeply thoughtful piece by @VictoireUmuhoza Ingabire that should not be overlooked.
In her recent article for @AlJazeera, Ingabire highlights what too many peace initiatives have failed to address:
🔹 That lasting peace in the Great Lakes region requires justice, inclusion, and political courage — not just geopolitical bargaining.
🔹 That over 200,000 Rwandan refugees remain in exile, many for more than 25 years — and their voices must be part of any genuine solution.
🔹 That dialogue with Rwanda’s exiled opposition and refugee communities is not a concession — it’s the only sustainable path forward.
What makes Victoire’s voice so relevant today is her unwavering clarity and her commitment to peaceful transformation and win-win solutions — not only for Rwanda and the DRC, but for the entire region and its international partners, especially the United States.
🇺🇸 In recent years, U.S. leaders — particularly under the Trump administration — have been the only ones bold enough to pressure Kigali to choose peace over control. They would do well to listen to leaders like Victoire Ingabire: principled, forward-thinking, and profoundly Americanophile voices advocating for freedom, sovereignty, and shared prosperity.
The path to peace in Central Africa must include those who have been silenced for far too long.
KAGAME’S POISONOUS HANDSHAKE WITH DRC RULERS APPEARS TO HAVE FAILED TO DETER THEM. WHY IS THIS?
Kagame shook with Mobutu Sese Seko, which resulted in a disastrous outcome for Mobutu. A similar fate befell Laurent Kabila and his son Joseph Kabila, as well as Félix Tshisekedi.
It is high time for #Rwanda and the #DRC to engage in dialogue with their respective refugees and opposition members, both within and outside their countries.
This will ensure not only the long-term success of a Washington-brokered peace deal but also lead to trust-building between state officials on both sides and pave the way for true regional cooperation, which will help both nations prosper after finally achieving peace.

Kagame’s @Rwanda is funny. The UN Rapporteur Reports that 1% of Rwandans own a whopping 30.3% of all the personal wealth in Rwanda. The bottom half only has a measly 3.3%. Who exactly are these 1% folks with all this incredible wealth? @Kagame and family. https://t.co/dwgz85P1b6
