🚨🚨🚨 New Nature Communications study on AMOC with very good news! Author says about it: "Based on the results, the AMOC is more stable than we thought," Vogt said. "This might mean that the AMOC isn't as close to a tipping point as previously suggested." Let’s freakin’ hope!
Why efforts to decentralise decision making consistently fail & how to make it succeed. In the health & care sector, many organisations are seeking to reduce hierarchy, cut the number of layers, decentralise authority etc. Yet research suggests such efforts often fail, with organisations reverting to old ways of working. New research shows that:
1) The decentralisation of authority is not a one-time structural change but a continuous process marked by ongoing tensions.
2) Operationalising decentralisation when people have unequal authority involves a massive collective effort by both leaders & workers to draw & define the boundaries of authority & change the way people perceive & relate to one another’s authority.
3) (When it fails) the shift back to centralised authority is not just initiated by leaders wanting to restore coordination and control - it is driven by people at all levels in the organisation, often for relational & psychological reasons.
We can redraw the structure charts, but if we don't back that up with a significant effort to change the dynamics of power, accountability & control at every level in the organisation, it is likely to be unsuccessful.

Give people housing and they'll have kids!
Obtaining housing increases the average probability of having a child by 3.8% and the number of children by 3.2%.
For 20 to 25-year-olds, the corresponding effects are 32% and 33%.
gotta say, it’s pretty funny to see congestion pricing opponents say both that “congestion pricing is too expensive” and “congestion pricing will have zero effect on congestion”
these two arguments are mutually exclusive!
There's a growing appreciation of the importance of trust for team leadership & effective change. As leaders we are signal generators - our smallest actions & interactions can build or destroy trust. I like this piece on powerful, practical ways we can build trust with our team members (& partners, peers & collaborators): https://t.co/6lVx0PSnTI. By Pinnacle Project via @Medium

Tillykke til @moviatrafik , som har sendt 66 nye elbusser på vejene, hvilket betyder at halvdelen af busflåden nu er emissionsfri. Flot udvikling, som også ses i de andre trafikselskaber.
