A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.
One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.
Antonio Gracias lent Elon Musk $1 million in ‘08 to save SpaceX from bankruptcy for 7.2% of the company.
It’s now worth $90 billion, making it the single greatest investment in the history of the world.
People over focus on Musk and forget the wealth he’s created for others.
BREAKING

Call sign ROGUE50
If you're in Laikipia or anywhere along the flight path from Wilson Airport and hear an unusually loud aircraft overhead, that's likely what you heard.
It seems like no one cares about the court orders or so
As promised, I'll continue monitoring and sharing developments as they happen.

BREAKING: The Ebola operation appears to be continuing despite the court order.
In addition to the Osprey aircraft we revealed yesterday, we tracked two more US military C-17 cargo aircraft including one code named RCH550.
One landed in Laikipia. Another was, unable to land and diverted to Djibouti.
We have also confirmed and are monitoring certain planned flights from Uganda and Congo in the coming days, which we believe will be used to transport Ebola patients into Kenya.
As always, I will keep alerting you here as new information emerges.
I am also receiving reports of planned protests this week over the issue.
So ensure you follow me here Sholla Ard for updates.

A fire broke out at Gacharage Girls Secondary lakini Murang’a Fire & Rescue responded haraka sana wakawaevacuate students na staff safe with Zero casualties.
When things are working, you don't need pressers to tell Kenyans they're working.
Breaking: Joho yesterday opposed a proposal to let KRA collect mining revenues instead of the Ministry of Mining, saying the Ministry depends on part of that money to run its operations.
But isn't that what the Treasury is for?
You and I know why Joho and many CSs would oppose KRA collecting mining revenue and want the Ministry of Mining to collect the money themselves.
Because why should a Ministry insist on being the one collecting the very money it spends?
KRA already collects taxes, customs duties, and billions of shillings on behalf of the government. Why should mining revenues be treated differently?
The resistance to greater oversight raises more questions than answers.
Parliament should look at this very carefully.
With KSH 1.7 Billion,
If each Kenyan MP receives KSH 2 million,
TOTAL = KSH 698 million
BALANCE = KSH 1.002 billion.
KSH 698 million is enough to buy parliamentary silence.

SC Nelson Havi says President Ruto forming an Ebola Response Committee only after the U.S. committed KSh 1.7 billion funding is “an impeachable offence” and “treason against the People of Kenya.”
Ruto spoke for almost 30 minutes at the 2026 National Prayer Breakfast but he didn't even take one minute in his speech to mourn with the affected families of Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru.
Not even a word!
"A CS who is an epitome of failure, Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen must take personal responsibility in the loss of lives of the children who have lost their lives." - Sen. Methu
The US is 17 times the size of Kenya with enough space to test nuclear weapons and stage a moon landing. Its health facilities are amongst the best in the world. But when it comes to Ebola, Kenya is a better dumping ground. WE HAVE NO COUNTRY HERE should be our new national slogan
NOW let us go to PAGE 19.
Clause 36.
This is where the bill changes excise duty on phones.
The old rate was 10%. I have attached evidence below on the white snippet
The NEW proposed rate is 25%. I have attached a snippet, which is green below
TWENTY FIVE PERCENT.
And here is the biggest lie.
Mbadi claimed taxes were being compressed into one tax. But WHERE in the Finance Bill are these taxes repealed?
Import Duty?
IDF?
RDL?
NOWHERE.
They remain. A CS can't just say things, and they become law.
So Mbadi lied
Is it Moloch Worship ?? The Endarasha incident happened the night of National prayer day . The UGA incident happened the night of National prayer day. Call me an overthinker but 1+1= 75
