Fun fact: Brighton railway station opened #OnThisDay 11th May 1840. The roof is newer (1882) but look up: you’ll see dolphins leaping! They’re on this town’s (once known as ‘Brighthelmstone’) crest. Platform 8 btw, is the last at a major UK terminus to still all be built of wood.

So. There’s NO evidence that most people arriving by small boats are economic migrants. But there’s LOTS of evidence that Patel and Braverman told that lie. A lie that has stoked racism and justified evil legislating.
