Making a brand and making an ecosystem are two completely different things.
People usually focus on solving a particular problem, which is good in the short term, but they fail to be a part of a long-term vision. Myopic problem-solving is a critical problem in today's brands.
If your loyalty doesn't go to a point where it gets into lunacy, you cannot say definitively that you are loyal ...
You cannot win a war when you have smart people around you ...You can win one when you have absolute madness...
Loyalty? Strange concept.
I say strange from a degrees perspective .. because even the most loyal people have degrees of loyalty.
And how does one define loyalty?
Can you be loyal even if it means harming yourself?
Can you be loyal even if it means looking like a fool?
Can you be loyal and say, "Screw the world, I stick to it"?
Loyalty, according to me, is being a lunatic ...
It's not too less, but it's not too much…
I urge everyone to count the days you have lived, and count the hypothetical days you think you have … and we don't have that many ….
Let’s make the best use of it and not waste it ….
How do we measure time ?
We either count in hours and minutes or we start counting years ….
This work will take 20 minutes , 3 hours or 19 hours etc…
Or - We have 2 years , 6 years … 10 years,
We generally do not count in days….
Considering sleep, travel, eating, daily mundane chores, holidays, illness , festivals, family occasions… we don't even have half of our targeted estimated days…
Most of us have a few thousand days of hard work left… that is, provided we don't end up dead before it!!
We should solely get worked up and worry on things which we can control, what we cannot we shouldn't... extremely easy to say but really very hard to implement.
Stress should drive decisions which determine outcomes, natural outcomes shouldn't drive our stress.
Have you ever waited for your luggage at the luggage belt and felt frustrated !!
Sabka aa gaya mera nahi aaya??
And with every new bag ..you pray this is yours and get anxed up...
Democracy allows inefficient people to make decisions, but also allows dissent and collective intelligence... though it often lacks long-term vision.
Also, the culture of a country drives the management style.
We should all ponder over it... there is no right answer.
Should a company be run like a dictatorship or should it be run like a democracy?
Dictatorship needs a super-smart person with moral values and long-term vision... which is very, very rare.
Next time, please ask yourself - yes, it can happen, but what are the chances of it happening?
Don’t pursue things just because they can happen. Pursue them only when there is a strong probability of them happening.
According to quantum mechanics, there is a chance you can open your home door and end up on Mars; but no matter how many times you open your door, would you actually end up on Mars?
Most people confuse possibilities with probabilities.
Something can happen, doesn’t mean it is probably going to happen. Its probability may be far lower than 50%.
So we end up pursuing things of a much lower probability and wasting our time.
