@voberoi With the "and discloses personal information" headline for a moment I thought Ariola like introduced her and then just started doxing her "this is our winner, her brother is named John, her mother's maiden name is Simpson,..."
@greenwoodae I've never had occasion to set them up so not sure how user friendly it is, but Mikrotik is a big player in this space at a reasonable price point: https://t.co/NkjIqNDgcM
@zeeg That said, you all + Honeycomb + new Lightstep + New Relic (at least in one iteration) all seem to be pricing similarly (although with somewhat different axes), so completely willing to believe that I'm missing a big cost driver.
@zeeg I mean - is it really, though? We were doing tail sampling on Lightstep Classic (RIP) but then rage moved to Tempo - the DX sucks but GCS + Parquet machine goes brrrrr

@isosteph I think he screwed it up - the way it's "supposed" to work is you ask somebody for their name and when they say their first name, you say "oh of course, {Soandso} I meant your last name" so you like get the name and a neg in too? I dunno
3) Any system proposed by people starting after you misunderstands the complexity of the domain and the constraints you were operating under
These laws are fundamental laws of the startup universe. They are always and everywhere true.
Ah, yes, the Three Laws of Hypergrowth Startup Dynamics:
1) All systems that existed before you were unscaleable, unmaintainable nightmares
2) Any replacement system you proposed and worked hard on was extremely challenging, saved the business, and merits your promotion
@mikejulian the shy booky one also does doc review for the dramatic reveal, and their schedule for the case is like two depositions and a three day trial. Might just not be that many billables in the Eastern District of TV-land?
@mikejulian I mean, TV show law firms are out here running
big litigation with a team of five (grizzled named partner, slightly more approachable junior partner/senior associate, young buck, young buck maybe-love-interest?, the shy booky one)
