Maybe it’s not burn out. Maybe it’s a sign you’re unappreciated and doing work that doesn’t provide you with a sense of meaning or purpose. Maybe it’s your body saying: no more of this.
My lecturer said to me the other day that perhaps the reason I find praise so hard is because the people praising me don’t see how much doing a good job costs me.
That hit hard. She’s right. They don’t see the meltdowns, the exhaustion or the masking. #ActuallyAutistic
@mightbeautistic I was diagnosed at 28 with Autism, but cause of the amount of masking etc that I’ve done without realising, people don’t think of me as Autistic because I don’t fit their ‘stereotypes’. Just makes me doubt everything.
