Taking a break in Bali this week. It’s not until you leave Australia again that you realise how depressing it has become. We are over governed by idiots and we are robbed blind daily by them. It should be a wonderful Country but it no longer is. And Melbourne is too bloody cold

My father became a citizen as soon he could after he arrived. He arrived in 1948 and voted in elections in the 50s. Yes he bought a tiny little house one door away from the railway line at Northcote. He received no govt help
to do so. The question is not whether permanent residents should buy houses but whether there should be govt help. Money is not endless I say help citizens first. Having said that the best thing governments could do for housing affordability is lower their 43 percent taxes on new homes. All this shit is tinkering at the edges .

There are almost 200 countries in the world and only Australia and New Zealand provide this generous financial help to permanent residents.
