Preparing for bad outcomes is still attachment to the outcome. It’s attachment to how you will deal with the outcome. How “you” will be in relation to the outcome. It is clinging. Absolute detachment to what will be and a disappaionate observance of what is is the true path.
You are designed to be fine. You are equally maddening to him. Rest, not because he is one thing: he never will be. No one is, but because no one told you that rest does not require him being one thing and you knowing what it is at all times.
Heaven and hell are here, and they are him both at once, in every moment. And all of it is true – and importantly, you will be fine. You are designed to be. You are, after all, human.
Rest because you are meant to realise the illusory karmic nature of this material reality. Witness the beauty and awe of this magical creation. Sleep. He is the worst; he is the best - he is a paradox. He is life itself.
Heaven and hell are here, and they are him both at once, in every moment. And all of it is true – and importantly, you will be fine. You are designed to be. You are, after all, human.
You will never conquer the What-ifs. You never get to. You are not God. Accept humanity and vulnerability. If you got that, you would not be human anymore. Your fragility to hurt is your defining mortal trait. The not knowing is the raw texture and flavour of aliveness.
And truth too, ever shifting. He is a sinner right now but becomes a saint tomorrow. The shifting faces are all him, all at the same time. To love a human is to love this edge. To love a human is to be at this edge of sanity, to be mad in this paradox.
I watched my father ruin my mother. I have watched many men ruin women. I refuse to be one of them. I cannot let you hurt me, but by that extension, I also cannot let you love me?
