Sir Peter Scott’s account of the light coastal forces ‘Battle of the Narrow Seas’ is my favourite book ever.

One more day to register for this event with Gilles Lagin! Join us to hear about pilgrimages in Belleau Wood and stories from Gilles' work with families who come to France to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors who fought in WWI. https://t.co/qJ4ZIGzhMm

#TBT With #ParisRoubaix round the corner, here’s a throwback photo of me riding 47km of pavé back in the day. The headache at the end was off the scale. I wrote about it in Zone Rouge, and it’s the most highlighted section in the ebook.

On Day 6 of the VPA, students visited Notre Dame de Lorette and Bois-Carré British Cemetery before reflecting at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial. The visit to Vimy was especially meaningful, as students connected with the memorial’s significance in honoring those who served.

[🇫🇷🇪🇺France Ouest Canada 🇨🇦 @ConsulatFRAVan]

On #VimyDay, we join Canada in honouring the sacrifice of those who fought at #VimyRidge. This battle marked a turning point in the war.
We remember the 🇨🇦3,598 lost lives, and 7,000+ wounded.
Their courage helped shape the future of our shared history 🇫🇷🇨🇦.
