@AusDiabetesEd Yeah this is tough… and often the visits are ok initially, but if there’s work to be done, it can be expensive. Get to know your local dentists and see what they offer. Also explain that not going may be more expensive in the long run #ADEAchat
@AusDiabetesEd Get to know your local dentists! How to refer, who they are, how they work and how much it will cost, so you can answer those questions when encouraging people to attend a dentist visit #ADEAchat
@AusDiabetesEd Explain what a dentist can help with… would be good for health professionals to have this in their toolkit of what to say to people with diabetes to help encourage dentist visits #ADEAchat
@AusDiabetesEd Is there an issue with undiagnosed diabetes? @AjeshGeorge_ or pre-diabetes? How often should someone visit their dentist with say family history of diabetes (or other risk factors) or pre-diabetes? #ADEAchat
@AusDiabetesEd I’m interested to know what glucose level is enough to impact teeth? Are we talking really high levels? Or prolonged slightly elevated levels? #ADEAchat@AjeshGeorge_
@AusDiabetesEd Rachel here, a CDE in NSW, Mum of 11yr old with type 1… an early morning workout made me smile this morning! Through gritted teeth! #ADEAchat
