Well, that about wraps it up from the MCI Center on another championship night. Good night and good luck, Hockeytown!

Finally, Mike and Marian Ilitch take their time with the Cup. The Wings are Stanley Cup champs once again.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Ozzie is the next player to take a full turn with the Cup, followed by Homer.

And now the team is taking a victory lap around the ice, pushing Vladdie's wheelchair ahead of them with the Cup.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

There are no words for this kind of moment. The team, sitting together on the ice, surrounding Vladdie.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

And now, just seconds after Yzerman finally raises the cup, he places it in Vladdie's lap, as the rest of the Wings surround them. It looks a little something like this ...

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Gary Bettman, post-boos, announces Stevie Y is the unanimous Conn Smythe winner. The Captain had 6 goals and 18 assists in 22 games.

As Mickey Redmond is interviewing Slava Kozlov, Vladdie is surrounded by his former teammates on the ice.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Vladdie, in his wheelchair, is already on ice level, wearing a championship hat.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

And that's it! That's all! The Detroit Red Wings repeat as Stanley Cup champions!

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

ONE MINUTE LEFT IN THE PERIOD. ONE MINUTE.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Caps' first three power plays: 6 shots. Power play No. 4: ZERO SHOTS on net. No wonder the police siren goes off when they score.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Slava Fetisov sent off for interference. This is probably the Caps' last chance to climb back into this game.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

We're halfway through the third period. The Red Wings are just 10 minutes of play from their second consecutive Stanley Cup.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Hat's so close, Doug Brown. The winger just misses a hat trick when he can't put away a give-and-go with 11:05 left in the third period. He had two goals in the rest of the playoffs. Two goals tonight.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

The standing ovation, from fans, Red Wings, Capitals, lasts nearly a minute, in all.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

And now, with a stoppage in play, the "Vlad-die" chants get louder, and he's shown on the big screen…

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

"Vlad-die! Vlad-die! Vlad-die!" chants are raining down from the rafters … Vladimir Konstantinov, the Wings' injured teammate and inspiration is in the stands.

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Wings fans, of which there are plenty of in the MCI Center tonight, are starting to get very vocal. They may even be a few chants of #LGRW ....

[Freep Red Wings @freepwings]

Brown again! That could be the dagger, as he pops in an easy goal off the feed from Slava Kozlov on the power play to make it 4-1!
