Having worked for USAID in 2008-2011 I can tell you it was a massive scam.

I worked on building "roads and markets" in Afghanistan ($450 million dollar program where over 100 roads were supposed to be, but they built only 11)". I worked on the "seed" program in Afghanistan (farmers went into debt with the IMF to buy shitty and expensive Monsanto seeds and if they could not pay off the loan, they took they land).

I blew the whistle in 2011 and left and they tried to turn my life upside down once I did. I reporting seeing money, in the form of cash, that was supposed to be used for these programs was being passed around in bags to warlords over dinners in Kabul by USAID contractors (Called Project Blueberry). The idea was to pay the warlords to stop attacking Americans in Afghanistan. This money was then used to bomb targets were Americans lived and worked in Afghanistan, kill American soldiers and line the pockets of very powerful people in Afghanistan.

I never saw Richard Gene out there helping or learning the ins and outs of any USAID program. He is an actor and here he is acting like he knows something, but he does not.

There are many Americas who worked these programs believing they were doing good. I cant tell you a single person who worked these USAID contracts that ended up felling like they did any good or made a difference.

It was always money laundering to powerful people in the host country and American "diplomats" that took the significant lion share of the "Aid money".

The best day of my life since 2011 was when the USAID department was dismantled.

USAID stands for money laundering Mr Gere. Full Stop.

@WestsideLAGuy Stupid take. Americans stopped studying STEM because they very well knew Indians would be replacing them having seen it happen to their parents. This created a scarcity of American STEM talent which was used by corps to bring more Indians. 99.99% of Indians are doing donkey work.
