We often put it to our athletes that, in any given session, we have swam more race-pace lengths than any other club in the UK.
I wonder how accurate we are ๐ค

Formula One drivers do the majority of their training at slow speeds (70-80mph).
On race-day they just go for it! (180-230mph).
Sounds absurd right?
Why do coaches insist on training their swimmers like this?

I remembering belonging to a club that trained swimmers twice on a Sunday. ~3000m per session.
The swimmers were knackered; exhausted even. Can you imagine the impact that had on their school work?
This is how you drive athletes away from the sport they love...

Our club is buzzing!
From our youngest to our more โmatureโ swimmers - our athletes and coaches are arriving on the poolside with a smile and leaving with a bigger one.
2019 is shaping up to be a very good year!
Outstanding performance from @adam_peaty in the 100m Breast at the #EuropeanChampionships ๐๐ผ
Smashing his own World Record - an unexpected result for him!
You can put up a set on a whiteboard using various coloured pens and make it look very impressive with various acronyms and % signs BUT
If you just leave swimmers to read it and โget on with itโ you may as well put some paint on the wall for the swimmers to watch dry!
Yesterday I ran in the same shorts I had when I was a 19 year old student at Loughborough (๐ #LCHF). As a sexagenarian, I only wish I had known then what I do now!
Hoping to up my running mileage this week to a mighty 8 miles (๐ #USRPT). As a sexagenarian former modern pentathlete I only wish I had known then what I do now!
@SASANorth Still struggling with starters who accentuate the word "Take" then pause before "your marks". It's one continuous instruction and important that the accentuation is left for the starting signal. Sprinters in particular need consistency.
