OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING THE 2026 FAN CHOICE AWARDS: NEXT ICON TROPHY

In our previous statement, we formally urged WakeOne to ensure that Sangwon receives his 2026 Fan Choice Awards: Next Icon trophy following its successful redelivery by THEKKING. Despite THEKKING confirming that the trophy had been successfully redelivered to WakeOne, Sangwon has yet to receive it. This was confirmed during a recent fansign, where Sangwon stated that he had not received the trophy when asked by a fan. We have retained receipts of this interaction as evidence. To date, however, WakeOne has provided no official update or explanation regarding the trophy’s status or the continued delay in handing it over to Sangwon.

We acknowledge that this may not be considered a major award. However, fans invested considerable time, effort, and financial resources to win it for Sangwon. Regardless of its perceived prestige, the trophy represents the collective dedication of fans who worked hard to secure this achievement for him. The least WakeOne can do is ensure that Sangwon receives an award that he rightfully earned.

This continued mishandling is disappointing, particularly given Sangwon’s position as the center and face of ALPHA DRIVE ONE. As a key representative of the group, his achievements should be handled with the appropriate care, recognition, and professionalism. Allowing an award to remain undelivered for months despite its successful redelivery to the company raises serious concerns about WakeOne’s management and the level of attention given to Sangwon’s achievements. Such treatment should not occur, and his position within the group makes it all the more important that his accomplishments are properly acknowledged and handled.

We therefore reiterate our demand for WakeOne to immediately hand over the trophy to Sangwon, officially confirm its delivery, and address the management shortcomings that have allowed this matter to remain unresolved for months.

We expect prompt action and accountability, not further silence. Sangwon’s achievements and the efforts of his fans deserve proper recognition and respect. WakeOne must fulfil its responsibilities and ensure that this matter is resolved without further delay.

Due to the issue WakeOne has caused, we will be launching a daily mass email campaign to WakeOne until we receive word that Sangwon has received the trophy, or any other update on its whereabouts.
