The Syndicate of Chemists in #Lebanon condemned “the barbaric aggression against civilians in Lebanon,” expressing concern about “the effects of inhaling the dust from the bombings on the southern suburbs of Beirut and other regions” as a result of Israeli attacks.

The syndicate stated that “the extent of destruction and the depth of penetration in buildings and land, reaching dozens of meters, indicate the use of bombs containing depleted uranium.”

In their statement, they emphasized that “the use of such internationally banned weapons, particularly in densely populated areas like the capital, results in widespread destruction, and the dust left behind can cause numerous diseases, especially when inhaled.”

Beirut’s southern suburb has been subjected to continuous and violent bombardment, with relentless airstrikes pounding residential areas. Locals describe the scenes as harrowing, with explosions shaking the neighborhood and reducing buildings to rubble. The air raids, which have been ongoing for several hours, are mostly coming without warning, endangering the lives of vulnerable civilians.

The reported attacks come just mere minutes after "Israel’s" military spokesman issued a call for residents of #Beirut’s southern Burj al-Barajneh area and several nearby buildings to evacuate.

Dozens of explosions were heard in this latest air raid on an area that was not included in Israeli-issued evacuation orders.

Pictures circulating on social media depict the resilience and solidarity of the #Lebanese people as they flee the ongoing Israeli aggression. Amid the chaos of gridlocked traffic, individuals paused to offer food and water to those in need.

Many found themselves trapped for hours in congested streets, uncertain of their safe destinations. Strangers began to offer not just sustenance, but also words of encouragement and support.

Ever since "Israel's" massacres in #Beirut’s Southern Suburb and the terrorist attack carried out by mass-detonating pagers and handheld radio receivers, commonly known as walkie-talkies, "Israel's" occupation forces fiercely escalated their aggression on Lebanon.

With over 120 airstrikes, "Israel" has relentlessly pounded southern Lebanon's areas, including the Tyre and #Nabatieh regions, as well as areas in Bint Jbeil, #Zahrani, and the highlands of Iqlim al-Tuffah. Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that 26 injured civilians arrived at Tebnin Hospital, four of whom are in critical condition.

"Israel" also extended its aggression to the northeastern #Bekaa region, targeting nine locations, including Harbata, the Baoul area in the Hermel highlands, Zboud and its surrounding heights, and Bodai, where one person was killed, and six were wounded.
