I respect your opinion,

I just don’t see it as an abusive relationship. I’m not giving Sony money for nothing….I’m paying for games and services that I personally enjoy. If I no longer felt they were worth it, I’d stop paying. That’s how I evaluate any purchase.

I also don’t support Sony’s decision. In fact, I even signed the petition MBG shared a few days ago because I disagree with what they did. So I’m not defending Sony here.

I couldn’t care less whether Sony makes a billion or a trillion dollars. What matters to me is whether they continue making products that I think are worth buying. Right now, their exclusive games are still something I enjoy enough to stay on the platform.

If one day those exclusives are available every platform and physical games are gone, and I already have a PC that gives me a better experience, then my decision could absolutely change. Until then, I simply don’t think buying a product I enjoy means I automatically support every decision the company makes.

We just draw that line differently, and I respectyou ans your opinion…

I think you’re misunderstanding my position. I’m not defending Sony’s decision, in fact, I’ve already said I don’t support it. My point is simply that disagreeing with one decision doesn’t automatically mean I have to stop buying every product they make. If that were the standard, none of us would be using companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Steam, or even X, because they’ve all made decisions consumers disagree with. Supporting a product doesn’t mean giving a company a free pass,,it just means people weigh the pros and cons differently…

I think that’s a fair concern, and I agree that less competition in any marketplace can reduce consumer leverage over time. My only hesitation is that we’re assuming Sony would stop offering meaningful discounts altogether. Historically, publishers discount games because lower prices often generate more sales, and Sony still has to compete for consumers’ time and money, not just against Xbox, but also PC, Nintendo, and even other forms of entertainment….

I definitely understand why people are concerned about the long-term implications…. I just don’t think we’re at the point where we can conclude that everyone will be paying full price indefinitely. It’ll be interesting to see how Sony approaches pricing over the next few years.
