FreqScope is now on GitHub.
Live air traffic on a 3D radar scope + real ATC audio, for any US airport. I built it after 12 years as an Air Force controller — so anyone can see what I saw and hear what I heard.
Source-available. Come build it with me:

Can I ask for a little help?
It’s becoming apparent that X provides very little reach for newer accounts, even paid ones. I know my account is still new, but the difference has been surprising. I made a Reddit account recently, and my very first post reached over 2,000 people with active engagement and meaningful conversations.
I’m just a regular guy trying to connect with pilots, air traffic controllers, software developers, and aviation enthusiasts who share the same passion for aviation and technology.
If you’ve enjoyed any of my content, a repost, share, or even a simple follow would mean a lot and help me reach the community I’m trying to build. Thank you for the support.
@TheBTCKnight I refuse to have to reply to 100 people a day for engagement. Thats not enjoyment, thats having to be a slave in attempt for name recognition.
@CoiveWellness@brockpierson But there has to be a post to reply to, thats the point Im making. Im new here so what do I know. To me, with my limited experience here, it seems like certain post are selected.
I joined X hoping to find a community but it seems like there is none. I had the expectation that paying would allow me to meet people but unfortunately after posting and sharing content I just talk in the void.
I’m considering deleting my account because it’s no fun posting and not being able to have thoughtful engagement.
@kzitouni1 I feel like this is a lie. I just started my account, zero engagement. I create original content. It seems like X has to pick your account for it to flourish, but I’m new here so I could be wrong.
@clarefinds You can’t on X, limited reach and engagement. I thought being here I’d actually be able to find a community but I’ve found I’m in an echo chamber. I get more reach on Reddit.
Curious how FreqScope identifies the active runway? We built a specialized runway voting system that observes live traffic, tracking aircraft on final approach, initial climb, and touchdown rollout, casting votes for each runway end. When traffic is too sparse to call it, it falls back to live wind data from the METAR. The result: the correct active runway, automatically. ✈️
