@prahaparappa@MillennialWoes Hopefully this quell any notion of vindictiveness that Reform ppl put on Lowe.
That could be a benefit of not standing.
Hopefully Restore stands in all future elections though. They must show that they’re a national party, competing everywhere.
@RupertLowe10 Please let this be the last time you step aside for an election.
Restore must stand in as many elections as possible before the 28/29 GE. Not standing in elections lends credence to the view that Restore is a small microparty.
To scale nationally, stand in elections.
Restore Britain will stand in the Clacton by-election.
The second one, held later this year, when the investigations into Farage’s finances conclude as we all suspect they will.
We are not going to participate in a Reform-sponsored media circus over the summer months that is designed to puff up Farage’s ego and deflect away from wholly fair questions over why he has concealed such vast and irregular financial donations.
Farage can play with his toys for the next six weeks, but Restore Britain is going to continue producing detailed policy papers, exactly as we have been, outlining how we can fix our country.
That is what I am interested in.
Detail. Data. Policy.
A plan.
I feel for the people of Clacton who deserve so much better than this unnecessary sham forced on them throughout their summer.
@prahaparappa@MillennialWoes You’re a fool.
Restore needs to stand in every election, if they want to scale as a national party before the 28/29 GE. Coming in third in Makerfield was a mid result. Not good, not devastating. They need to continue to stand in every election and build their campaign machine.
@prahaparappa@MillennialWoes No. Downes will be given a massive amount of media coverage and he’ll be able to effectively challenge Farage from the right.
Even if Downes loses, it will increase his own national recognition and he will have been given the opportunity to make his arguments to the nation.
@MillennialWoes They likely will be in second or third in the polls and will be given ample media attention.
If Downes is selected, then he can challenge Farage’s record from the right and from an identity-preservation pov. It will be given mainstream coverage. Very important for scaling.
@blaiklockBP Restore should stand a candidate.
It is free publicity and a chance to radically increase brand recognition.
If Restore stands Downes or Wright then they could easily come in second and make it somewhat competitive.
They’d be foolish not to take this opportunity.

@Con_Tomlinson@Haleric2 Restore has to stand in basically every election up to the 28/29 GE, if they want to have any chance of successfully scaling nationally.
@Con_Tomlinson@Haleric2 They should stand.
You want Reform to win and Restore to merely exist as a pressure group. Those are your intentions.
It also won’t work bc Reform will remain in the centre and not implement any of the necessary (substantial) regime-level changes that are required.
