In Potomac River, in shadow of Arlington & Georgetown, is Theodore Roosevelt Island. So much history here—from Dolley Madison’s escape point in 1812 to training ground for 1st U.S. Colored Troops in 1863 to memorial to the 26th President. A perfect day to bike over & take it in.
The Friends of Theodore Roosevelt Island, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting Theodore Roosevelt Island, is looking for 1-2 new board members. (See thread for details & application instructions).
