One of the most disappointing things I witnessed today had nothing to do with the SSPX consecrations themselves. It was watching Christians ridicule a profoundly reverent liturgy simply because they opposed it.

Having watched the episcopal consecrations from beginning to end, I understand that many people disagree with what took place. That is a serious theological discussion worth having.

What troubles me is seeing so many online personalities reduce the ceremony to “LARPing,” a joke, or worse.

You do not have to agree with these consecrations to acknowledge what was plainly before us. The liturgy was reverent, beautiful, and centered on the worship of God. To deny that is to allow emotion to overshadow reality.

Please don’t let religious influencers do your thinking for you. Pray. Study. Think carefully. Above all, let your judgments be governed by truth rather than outrage.

Lord, have mercy upon us all.
