A United Nations’ independent commission has found that Israel is deliberately targeting Palestinian children.

Commission chair Srinivasan Muralidhar described the “systematic killing and harming of children” including since the so-called ceasefire was declared in October 2025.

On 5th December 2024, Amnesty released a report determining that Israel was committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza – a genocide that continues today.

Our report demonstrated that Israel carried out acts prohibited under the Genocide Convention, with the specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, including children.

Children should never be the cost of conflict. Justice and accountability now.

Amnesty opposes the use of terrorism powers in this case.

It is completely disproportionate to punish protesters for criminal damage as if they were terrorists, a sentence which stays with you for life.

The defendants in today’s case were sentenced as terrorists because prosecutors want to make an example of them.

Today's decision shows how direct action protesters could be treated in the future.

Israel must not arbitrarily block humanitarian aid convoys.

Civilians who have remained in their homes in villages in southern Lebanon in Bint Jbeil district, are increasingly isolated and unable to access basic necessities.

They have been cut off from humanitarian aid, medical care, food, water, and fuel.

This is due to Israeli restrictions preventing aid convoys from reaching villages, attacks on medical and rescue workers and unsafe routes.

Residents in southern Lebanon told Amnesty that humanitarian aid convoys have almost ceased in recent days.

Those who wish to leave to areas north of the Litani River are afraid to do so due to Israel's bombardment of bridges and unsafe alternative routes.

Parties to the conflict, including the Israeli military and Hezbollah, must facilitate safe passage for civilians wishing to leave conflict areas, ensure unfettered access to humanitarian aid for those remaining, and allow medics and ambulances to reach and treat the ill and wounded.

People who remain in southern Lebanon must have adequate access to food, water, medical care and essential supplies.

This is a moment of extreme danger for civilians in Iran and the wider region.

For President Trump to threaten that 'a whole civilisation will die tonight' echoes genocidal language.

The UK government must urgently end military support to the US that could enable crimes under international law, including war crimes.

Amnesty International is unequivocal: threatening to systematically destroy civilian infrastructure is a threat to commit war crimes.

Israel now has one of the world’s most extreme death penalty laws.

Israel is brazenly granting itself free rein to execute Palestinians while stripping away the most basic fair-trial safeguards.

This law has passed in the same month in which Israeli military attorney general dropped all charges against Israeli soldiers accused of sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee.

Two years ago today, Hind Rajab was killed by Israeli forces. She was five years old.

On 29th January 2024, Hind and her relatives were fired on by an Israeli tank when trying to flee to safety. Everyone in the vehicle was killed by the initial attack except Hind and her 15-year-old cousin, Layan.

Layan called the Palestinian Red Crescent but was killed shortly after, leaving Hind on the line.

The two medics who were dispatched, Youssef Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, in a vehicle marked as a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance to rescue her, were also targeted by Israeli tank fire as they approached. They were both killed.

The recording of Hind’s call to the Red Crescent spread across the world.

Hind is one of the at least 20,179 children who have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since October 2023 - according to the latest reports from the United Nations. The real figure is likely much higher.

Justice for Hind Rajab requires not only her killers to be brought to justice. The architects of the genocide in Gaza must be held accountable too. Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant must face trial at the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
