@spencerpratt Seriously, yes there are idiots (terrorists) who would gladly burn the entire USA to the ground and weak leadership who would wait for it to happen and then be surprised that it did happen. Please don’t encourage their ideas
@JesseBWatters Sorry Jesse
I am in Paris now and clean is the not the adjective that I would use for describing the city. There are plenty of homeless and trash is everywhere Maybe you should take a walk around Notre Dame some morning and see it for yourself
@Jackkk In hindsight, the ~$5.7 billion all-stock purchase (at ~50–57x revenue for an unprofitable company) is widely viewed as one of the worst acquisitions of the bubble—Yahoo! struggled to integrate/monetize it and shut down most services by 2002.
Elon Musk just defended America better than every politician in Washington combined.
Musk: “After World War 2, the US could have basically taken over the world and any country. Like we got nukes, nobody else got nukes. We don’t even have to lose soldiers. Which country do you want?”
One nation on earth held a weapon nobody else had.
Total dominance. Zero competition. No risk of retaliation.
Every empire in history that held that kind of advantage used it.
Rome. The Mongols. The British. The Ottomans.
They conquered until they collapsed.
America had a bigger advantage than all of them combined.
And it rebuilt the countries it just defeated.
Musk: “The United States actually helped rebuild countries. So it helped rebuild Europe, it helped rebuild Japan. This is very unusual behavior, almost unprecedented.”
Almost unprecedented?
It had never happened before. Not once in 5,000 years of recorded history.
The Marshall Plan wasn’t foreign aid.
It was the most radical act of restraint any superpower ever committed.
America turned its enemies into allies. Turned rubble into economies. Turned surrender into partnership.
Germany went from ashes to the economic engine of Europe in a generation.
Japan went from unconditional surrender to the third largest economy on earth.
Three years after the war, America was flying food into Berlin.
A city in the heart of the nation that just tried to destroy it.
That’s not policy.
That’s a civilization deciding what it is at the exact moment it has the power to be anything.
You’re being told a story right now.
That America is the villain of history.
You hear it everywhere. Media. Universities. Social platforms.
Musk: “There’s always like, well America’s done bad things. Well of course America’s done bad things, but one needs to look at the whole track record.”
Every nation on earth has dark chapters. Every single one.
The difference is what a country does when nobody can stop it.
And when nobody could stop America, it fed its enemies and rebuilt their cities.
Musk: “The history of China suggests that China is not acquisitive. Meaning they’re not going to go out and invade a whole bunch of countries.”
Probably right.
China has historically built walls, not fleets.
But the real question isn’t about borders anymore.
We’re approaching a moment that mirrors 1945 in ways nobody has fully processed yet.
AI is going to give a handful of people a power advantage that makes nuclear monopoly look quaint.
If someone is going to hold that kind of power, who do you want it to be?
The country that conquered when it could? Or the one that rebuilt when it didn’t have to?
Every alliance. Every trade route. Every economy.
Billions lifted out of poverty.
All of it traces back to one act of restraint that had never been done before.
And carries no guarantee of being repeated.
The most powerful thing America ever did wasn’t building the bomb.
It was what it didn’t do after.
Exactly correct. The talent to compartmentalize and focus without noise is very rare and a talent very few people have Not a good or bad thing, just a reality of life Usually requires some other life condition , like OCD, and luck to hit it really big. We are just fortunate to have a system of government that didn’t shut them down because they couldn’t outthink them. I hope we continue to have the good sense to encourage the best and brightest to imagine and create.
@TukiFromKL Ok. Then why do we need to increase the population ? Why not let it fall to levels like 4 billion naturally and reduce births thus saving the overcrowded planet and the resources on it for the inhabitants
@CBSNews And that is why mainstream news is failing. They are looking for reasons it is not true, rather than trying to determine what is true! RIP to MSM… gonzo journalist and long form interviews are the new reputable news formats.
@elonmusk@GovTimWalz Thank you Elon for sharing this with all of your followers. Something the media will certainly “forget” to do! Love your courage!!!
Seriously, can someone explain in real terms why it matters if the population drops to 6 or 4 billion and stays at that level? The planet population is destroying the planet environment and quality of life. Just look at the massive population centers. Much higher crime and discontent. With AI and Robots coming quickly and jobs going away, I really don’t see the issue with population decreasing
Sorry, why do we need to have a growing population when the world is crowded and the resources and employment opportunities are decreasing? If the planet has 4 or 5 billion it seems fine with me. Besides, aren’t we talking about UBI as an alternative to employment? Lastly, creating babies from egg and sperm donors seems entirely sustainable and easy. If we need more people than just manufacture them.
@SGTWipper1Each seriously, a helicopter and a jet are just sitting in the salt spray or waiting to be swept overboard. What’s money, just the government spending or wasting it at will…
If the population can be managed and cultivated at will by artificial egg and sperm harvest, why is this a problem for humanity? I thought the planet did just fine with 4 billion people on it. Also, if AI and Robotics are going to make work optional for humans, what will all of the growing population do except play video games and drugs to placate themselves. Less people will provide more outdoor space and nature for those who are here and if there is a need for more population later, than just manufacture it.
Yep. A very big loophole that should be easily closed but the code is not written to be fair and the politicians are not interested in offending their wealthy bases. Make all trusts , foundations and other loopholes expire in due time. Just like term limits , this will not happen easily
@VigilantFox Just follow the money…. They were just looking for a reason; to cancel his unprofitable show would be the simple explanation. This is just business. If his ratings were great he would still be around
@robbystarbuck Exactly. What is wrong with people? Free speech is the most important right we have. Discussions are the way to understand and learn. That’s what universities are suppose to champion
@TaraBull808 I use to love them until they chickened out of making fun of ONE religion. Wanna guess which one? Why? Be brave and take on free speech you cowards What could you possible be afraid of while you sit in your multimillion dollar mansions with your bodyguards.
Please explain why the population has to grow considering AI and robotics will displace most workers worldwide and we will have challenges with mental health as people try to find self worth and resources are already challenged. How does more people on UBI a boom to society. I am thinking 4 billion seems like a better population than’ 8 or 10 billion.
