@PenelopePrays (Most of) The Great Commentary is available online. There’s also an interesting one called Ancient Christian Commentary. It’s what the Church Fathers said in their commentaries, homilies, and writings. Some of these are a little heavier to read, but well worth it.
@PenelopePrays There’s a series that’s not yet complete (but is EXCELLENT) called Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture. Brant Pitre and John Bergsma also just released theirs on the Old Testament (NT in the works). Older (but one of my favorites) is The Great Commentary by Cornelius A Lapide

@loesmittyjmj It’s usually not difficult - though sometimes we all just make mistakes that may look like we are playing fast and loose with rubrics (& there’re a few unclear ones that people LOVE to pontificate upon - yay armchair liturgists). Conclusion: Pray for your priests. All of them. 🙂
