I was just thinking how amazing it would be to have some completely objective scorekeeper of facts that both sides agreed was mostly fair, and it occurs to me there's not a single institution remains within the US, or any of its allies, or NATO, certainly not the UN that you could get maga and a huge number of center right repubs to agree was impartial.
People distrust everything and the distrust is based on absolutely nothing. No evidence is accepted and faith in the words of the leader is accepted as proof.
There's an insane paranoia that has spread that everyone is out to get us and no one can be trusted any longer even if they may have been allies for centuries and come to each others aid on many occasions.
Any criticism is intolerable, no error can be admitted to, it's always the previous guys fault when it goes wrong and only the genius of their guy when it goes well.
Disloyalty is punished, both in severe and petty ways (Rand Paul), and of course loyalty is rewarded in increasingly more obviously corrupt ways (Musk apologizes/ Starlink let back into receive Bead funding) - it has to become more obvious because it's like a giant ponzi scheme and needs constant investors.
Common etiquette and decorum discarded, it's only use to be mocked and ridiculed. A rampant hatred against anything considered intellectual, millions of discoveries stifled due to the spite of an intellectual simpleton dressed up as anti anti semitism.
And now troops on the streets in a major city in the US!
How can anyone say this is the way forward?
Complex problems are not solved by simplistic solutions. Simple solutions are easy to do quickly to be seen to be doing something rather than actually doing something.
Thinking you solve illegal immigration by swooping in with snatch squads and deporting 20 million mainly manual laborers and blue collar workers and their families is demented, because a) it's what cunts would do and we're not supposed to be cunts, b) imagine they achieve it? Who does the fucking jobs they were doing, at the rates they were doing them at? What's the actual, workable, non 'hand waving in the air' plan?
Piss and moan about inflation under Biden? This would cause eye watering inflation. It's basic fucking maths!
Nothing about the economic policy adds up. All the talk about reducing debt and the BBB adds many trillions more! Tariffs have been raised across the board in a truly insane way, the net result with us all paying far more for everything and some people are absolutely convinced this is a good thing! The revenue from the tariffs been given to the ultra wealthy in tax breaks, whilst the vast majority of people will get not much of fuck all. And still the debt does not go down and our interest payments grow! No biggie!
There's no way we can cut our way out of this debt alone, revenues have to increase which means higher taxes. Tariffs are a higher tax! Instead of using tariffs to redistribute wealth from the mass to the very few, just raise taxes on the very few to ease the debt on us all, the masses and the very few.
Fun fact for the $10 billion lawsuit crowd.
The IRS leak that exposed Donald Trump’s tax returns happened between August 2019 and November 2020.
405,427 other taxpayer returns were also leaked.
Trump was president. His own pick, Charles Rettig, ran the IRS. The contractor who did it, Charles Littlejohn, worked on a Trump-era IRS contract and is now serving five years in federal prison.
On January 29, 2026, Trump sued the IRS and Treasury for $10 billion over a breach that happened on his watch, under his commissioner, by a contractor his administration paid.
He is suing the federal government he ran, for failing to stop a leak that occurred while he was running it.
The taxpayer foots the bill either way.
@jewelsbythepool@AndrewZywiecMD You also object to heterosexual couples who cannot conceive?
After all they also can't reproduce, and nature is clearly also saying No.
It's really just the bum sex you object to isn't it?
TLDR - I take issue with the idea that the lack of perfect nuclear family correlates to a binary of competence/ incompetence in parents.
No one has claimed that all parental situations are equal or will result in the same outcomes. Yet your position appears to be unless you are operating in a traditional nuclear unit, then you cannot be a competent parent especially if your child is not of the same sex as you.
I would agree that the ideal is a loving traditional nuclear unit, but it doesn't mean other structures of whatever composition cannot achieve the same results, in the same way the ideal unit can produce horrible outcomes and be comprised of monsters. And we shouldn't disallow non nuclear parenting just because it is not the theoretical optimal, it needs to be good enough to produce well adjusted children and adults.
And by any other mix of parenting apparently based on your definition - single mother, single father, 2 females, 2 males. The only acceptable unit is 1 man, 1 woman. So why don't you just come out and say it rather than hide behind 'competence' as a justification for your ignorance
@NoCaparison@AndrewZywiecMD And the heterosexual couple who have a preference, are they also incompetent? Do you think a man can ever 'know' what it is to be a girl enough not to fail your definition of incompetence as a parent?
@NoCaparison@AndrewZywiecMD How is a preference for something, a confirmation of incompetence? You know biological, heterosexual parents often have a preference for the sex of their child? Are they thus incompetent?
@FrozenLord5@wartranslated Get that, but he was arrested after he took his shot or at least it appears so, which means either they let him take his shot for some reason even though the target could be killed or they were watching him but didn't realize that was the hit until he did it
@DanCrenshawTX If it's an empty threat it only serves to make the US look even weaker. Get some dignity for God's sake and stop trying to justify the unjustifiable.
@thetruthbfree@backhandoftruth@allenanalysis You may not be a bot but you do appear to be incapable of stringing English words together in a comprehensible sentence.
How's Turkey this time of year?
