@AlexMonfreda@blindRICHzebras@scrdrfan It’s a soft zone. That is the Patriots prevent defense. It’s a quarters zone. In a quarters zone, you have 4 guys dropping deep, and the rest filling in the short and intermediate spacing. I get why you’re confused but I promise, it’s a soft zone version of a prevent defense.
@AlexMonfreda@blindRICHzebras@scrdrfan I’m confident in the plays before 3rd down, not on the 4th down play. They rushed 4 and played a soft zone. That’s the Patriots version of prevent. They sub everyone out and play a vanilla zone.
That said, the kid should play, the Raiders aren’t contenders. Get him experience.
@AlexMonfreda@blindRICHzebras@scrdrfan 3rd down they blitzed him. 4th down they blitzed him(if I recall, I’m not in front of my computer) but he was what? 0-2 on plays they didn’t play prevent?
@AlexMonfreda@blindRICHzebras@scrdrfan I watched every play back before I replied to you. They rushed 4 and dropped into a soft zone every snap but the one you highlighted. Every snap.
@Noahgilberto19 $36 million is almost double what AEW has done in gates for the entire year. Seems like an odd flex. Or are you just trying to be toxic?
@blindRICHzebras@AlexMonfreda@scrdrfan His original post implied he did not play against all prevent defenses by highlighting the only snap he didn’t. It was misleading.
@Tmraider It went both ways. There was one stretch early where they went Bills DPI (legit), Bills DPI (bad call), Patriots OPI (make-up call).... every play you had to wait to see what the flag was. Complete insanity.
@AlexMonfreda@scrdrfan The Patriots rushed 4 and dropped everyone into a cover 4 zone every play but that last one. That last play, the 3rd down, was the only time they sent pressure. It was classic prevent defense before that play. Every snap.
@AlexMonfreda@scrdrfan I find it weird you focused on one play. What was the result of that play? And what happened on the previous plays, did the defense zero-blitz or did they drop everyone into a soft zone?
No one finds it odd that the least penalized team in the NFL has had 5 touchdown drives against them being allowed by pass interference calls? Literally 100% of the Patriots touchdowns were helped by referees.
My takeaway after the Raiders win:
Now that Drake Maye has found his game again, it’s time to acknowledge what I’ve been suspecting for a while…..the “L” word is officially in play.
