To those who are pissed off about rainbow flags in crosswalks, please read this thought experiment and respond:

You child has has cancer and lost his hair due to treatment . He is getting bullied at school because he has no hair. As a positive gesture, the school adds a couple of murals of kids with no hair on the walls around his classroom to make your child feel more welcomed and to normalize his condition. One of the parents decides that he doesn't like the murals or bald heads being normalized and shouts, “If you are going to have these murals, I want you to add murals of normal kids, as well as kids with big bushy heads of hair.” The school refuses and the father splatters paint all over the murals.

How would you feel?

That's exactly how parents with gay children and gay people feel when you deface their murals or get mad that they fly a rainbow flag.
