I initially read this as “relax marriage rules” and was ready to go off—but then I re-read it. The idea that Muslims should delay marriage until 25 or 28 while avoiding all haram isn’t from Islam, it’s cultural nonsense.

Islam encourages early marriage for those who are ready. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever can marry, should marry.” Look at Ali (RA) and Fatimah (RA)—they married young and with very little. Islam made it simple; our cultures are the ones overcomplicating it.

Telling people to suppress their desires for years during their peak while demanding they have a house, career, and huge wedding before marrying? That’s a recipe for frustration, not faith.

Relax the norms, not the rules.
