Even with Emotional Control, Most Traders Can't Win

Most traders think they can win if they don't have emotional issues.
Your inability to succeed in trading is not due to emotions but simply ignorance and a lack of deep understanding of what is necessary.
Moreover, most emotional issues arise from this ignorance.

You will continue to struggle unless you change your erroneous ways of thinking and trading, such as valuing wins and losses in the short term, linking results to self-esteem, trading with a short-term perspective, focusing solely on the amount of money, trying to recover losses, or trading with reckless position sizes based on how much you want to earn.
Even if you are good at controlling your emotions, you won't succeed with such trading practices.

1. A trader's job is first to build a system with an edge, thoroughly backtest it, practice repeatedly, and build an understanding of how the system works and trust in it.
→ Before talking about emotional control, have you done this properly?

2. Consistently execute a reliable system with an edge in actual trading.
Understand probabilistic thinking, understand your role, and focus on what is necessary and what you can control.
→ Before talking about emotional control, do you understand these things?
Are you unconsciously repeating the habit of thinking about things you can't control?
Are you watching the charts unnecessarily?
Are you looking at your profit and loss during trades?
Are you thinking about boasting on social media if you win?

3. Understand how probability works and take a long-term approach.
→ Do you understand how probability works?
Do you truly understand that even a system with an edge will naturally have losing streaks and drawdowns?
Are you considering a losing streak as a sign that the system is not working?

Anxiety and fear are your reactions to the unknown.
People fear what they don't understand.
The market itself is a world of uncertainty, and from a short-term perspective, it is human nature to fear randomness.
However, if you change your perspective, understand how to extract certainty from uncertainty, and realize in advance that even if you repeat it hundreds or thousands of times, you will get similar results with high probability, your perception of the uncertain world will change.
Your perspective will lengthen, and the unknown world will become a known world.

I am not at all afraid of my trades, and I don't care if the immediate result is a win or a loss.
But using a system that I haven't backtested or that doesn't have a known edge is very scary.
That's the point.
I haven't conquered fear through some amazing meditation technique or breathing method.
It's all about a deep understanding of my job as a trader and a deep understanding and trust in the system.

There is too much talk in this industry about controlling emotions, but there are many people who have many things left to do before that.
I don't control my emotions.
Since I'm not scared in the first place, there's no need to deal with it.
I don't focus on breathing; I just click normally, and that's it.
With the light of understanding, this darkness is not scary.
