I was not gonna translate anything since it's mostly Carats and random people wishing them well, but of course the usual weirdos had to spawn in the replies. Thankfully, Korean Carats were ready to drag them immediately.

1. The "Why public service?" crowd
* Anti: "Half of the members going are doing public service? Celebrities really are something..."

* Carat: "Getting assigned to public service is insanely hard these days. If they got public service, just think about how wrecked their bodies actually are before typing."

* Anti: "Normal guys in their early 20s go to active duty even when they’re struggling..."

* Carat: "Do you seriously think a 30-year-old idol who spent their ENTIRE 20s grinding their joints and cartilage on stage has the same body as a fresh 20-year-old? Please use your brain."

3. The conspiracy theorists

* Anti: "Did HYBE bribe the military or what?"

* Carat: "Seungkwan literally had surgery after rupturing his Achilles tendon and he's still going to ACTIVE DUTY. If a member got public service despite that, imagine how bad their actual health is. Are you insane?"

Here is why:

The MMA Evaluates the Permanent Medical Record, Not "Current Feats"

The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) evaluates candidates based on verified medical history, surgical records, chronic damage, and official scans (MRI/CT).

A person feeling better today or performing on stage does not erase years of documented spinal damage or reconstructed ligaments in state medical files.

Re-examinations Don't Work on Fan Protests

You cannot "protest" someone into active duty. Draft classifications are strictly governed by the Military Service Act. Once a state medical board assigns a Grade 4 or Grade 5 based on statutory criteria, that classification stands unless the candidate themselves officially petitions for a re-evaluation with new medical proof.

Exemptions & Alternative Service Are Legal Rights, Not "Cheating"

The system is built specifically so that citizens with severe physical injuries aren't forced into combat training that could permanently cripple them. S.Coups’ complete exemption (Grade 5) and members’ Grade 4 assignments were issued directly by state military doctors following legal protocols.

So even in this fantasy scenario where everyone magically heals overnight, the South Korean legal system doesn't retroactively rewrite medical history based on internet outrage. They follow the law maybe try reading it sometime!
