First, by following the Federal Reserve’s lead in 2022 in characterizing inflation as “transitory.”
Second, by being insufficiently sensitive to the fact, that, subsequently, a declining inflation rate did not translate into what voters were hoping for most – a lower price level/cost of living; and
Third, by failing to convey effectively the extent to which US economic growth has out-performed other advanced countries.

How big media exerts control and "makes" the news:

Mainstream media outlets pretend to just cover the news. But their editorial decisions shape the political landscape far more than they admit.

For example, big national outlets refuse to cover Jill Stein, despite the fact that she's the presumptive nominee of the Green Party and has substantial ballot access.

If they covered her, she'd get more attention and rise in the polls, which would warrant even more coverage. That would further increase her popularity and create a problem for the establishment, so corporate media outlets deliberately ignore her.
