Aishah Siregar, 20, texted her mother Tuesday morning to say she was going to school. She flew to Cambodia that afternoon.

When her family went to collect her, her WhatsApp and Telegram accounts had been deleted, her phone line was dead, and her passport was gone from the house. In her emails they found a Cambodia flight itinerary and several hundred dollars in transfers over the previous few days. The name on the transfers matches an online friend she had been gaming with for more than a year. Her brother Syafiq says the family had heard her call out that name, but none of them had met the person or heard him speak.

Police have confirmed she left the country, and the Singapore Police Force is trying to reach Interpol. The family has been emailing the foreign ministry and their MP.
