Entertainment executive John Yang shared the story behind NMIXX and Anderson .Paak’s “Caution” on LinkedIn:

“It began with a simple conversation between Dem Jointz and myself while he was in Korea. We brought together Lily and Haewon from NMIXX, along with Awrii, for a writing session organized with the support of the JYP A&R team. At the time, it was Lily and Haewon's first-ever songwriting camp experience. Despite the uncertainty that comes with trying something new, they trusted the process, embraced the challenge, and delivered something special.

The song we created was originally intended as a demo for NMIXX's upcoming album. Unexpectedly, it eventually found its way to Anderson .Paak, who connected with it and brought it into his project. The journey didn't stop there. Coordinating schedules between Anderson and NMIXX was nearly impossible, but somehow we found a small window following NMIXX's U.S. tour. The group extended their stay in Los Angeles to film the music video, while Anderson flew in from Las Vegas immediately after performing with Bruno Mars.”
