Former Xdinary Heroes’ GUNIL’s representative has issued an official statement following his departure:

“The following statement is issued by Attorney Sung Jae-hwan of Joowon Law Firm on behalf of Gunil of dinary Heroes (“the Artist”), in relation to recent reports regarding certain remarks attributed to him.

The Artist extends his sincere apologies to his fans and to the members of dinary Heroes for the concern this matter has caused.

He is deeply sorry to his fans, who have supported him with unwavering dedication, for the disappointment they have felt.

He is profoundly sorry for the position in which the members have been placed, having been affected through no fault of their own. It troubles him above all that difficulty has come upon the whole team through his own negligence. He has offered his apologies to them directly.

The Artist used inappropriate expressions during a private conversation, for which he takes full responsibility without excuse. It should be noted, however, that he was under considerable strain at the time from malicious online postings concerning him and from undue intrusions into his private life, and that the remarks arose while he was confiding those feelings to another person. He accepts that words spoken in private carry no less weight for having been spoken in private.

The Artist has always held his fans in the deepest regard. He read every letter he received, and recorded, one by one, the names of those who wrote to him and what they had shared with him of their own lives. The stage was the ambition of his life, and it was his fans who sustained him through the years he was able to stand upon it. He had likewise prepared over a long period for Summer Sonic 2026, regarding that stage as a promise made to his fans. He sought to appear until the very last, but was unable to do so, and he is deeply sorry that he could not meet his fans there.
That he has caused his fans distress is what weighs upon him most heavily.

Upon reviewing the records, we confirm that the allegation that the Artist habitually insulted or disparaged his fans is entirely false. The allegations that he spoke ill of his fellow members, and that he had inappropriate contact with another person while in a relationship, are likewise entirely false.

Regarding his agency, the Artist did not depart of his own volition, nor did he agree to terminate his exclusive contract. We do not believe that valid grounds for termination exist in this case.

Nevertheless, wishing to spare his fans any further distress, he intends to continue discussions with the agency in good faith.
Finally, concerning the posting that gave rise to this matter, much of its content is untrue, and the harm caused to the Artist has been severe, leaving him emotionally exhausted. While it is our view that civil and criminal proceedings are fully available to him, the Artist has chosen to forgive the person who wrote it. When he reflects on the love his fans have shown him, he has told us, he can do no other. In accordance with the Artist's wishes, we shall not pursue legal proceedings at this time. The Artist asks only that his fans accept the sincerity of what he has said.

The Artist once again offers his sincere apologies to his fans and to the members for the concern and the weariness this matter has caused. He hopes that all remaining matters will be resolved smoothly and swiftly, and he remains fully committed to giving his utmost alongside his fans. We kindly ask for your continued interest, support, and warm encouragement.

건일의 법률대리를 맡고 있는 법무법인 주원 성재환 변호사는 20일 공식 SNS를 통해 "소속사와의 관계에 관하여 사실관계를 바로잡고자 한다. 아티스트는 그룹에서 자진하여 탈퇴한 사실이 없으며, 전속계약 해지에 동의한 바도 없다.

이번 사안의 경위와 성격에 비추어 볼 때 전속계약 해지 사유가 있다고 보기도 어렵다"라고 주장하며, "다만 아티스트는 이 문제로 더 큰 피로감을 드리기를 원하지 않는다. 소속사와 원만히 대화를 이어 가고자 한다"라고 덧붙였다.

문제가 된 글을 작성한 게시자에 대한 법적 조치는 하지 않을 것이라 알렸다. 건일 측은 "해당 게시물에는 사실과 다른 내용이 다수 포함되어 있으며, 그로 인하여 아티스트가 입은 피해는 결코 가볍지 않다. 그럼에도 아티스트는 게시자를 용서하고자 한다. 아티스트는 본인이 받은 사랑을 생각하면 다른 사람을 용서하지 않을 수 없다고 한다. 이에 당 법률대리인은 아티스트의 뜻에 따라 현재로서는 법적 조치에 나아가지 아니하기로 했다. 아티스트는 팬 여러분께서 자신의 진심을 알아주시기를 바라고 있다"라고 덧붙였다.
