JUST IN: Presiding officer and Senator Francis Joseph G. Escudero has adjourned the 32nd day of the impeachment trial of Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The trial ended early to give time for the defense counsel to prepare for examining the witness from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLAC).

Presiding officer and Senator Francis Joseph G. Escudero says the court discussed matters pertaining to the next witness, particularly the absolute confidentiality of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001.
Lead defense counsel Sheila C. Sison added they need more time to prepare for examining the witness from the Anti-Money Laundering Council. They need to review 23 to 24 boxes of evidence before being able to comment.
Escudero added that there is no available witness for tomorrow. Subpoenas for witnesses from banks and insurance companies will only be issued today. | @bworldph

The Kembali Coast property registered to her husband in 2018 does not appear in Vice-President Sara Duterte’s statement of assets, liabilities, and network worth (SALN).
Ms. Duterte’s 2019 SALN has no record of a purchase matching the P3.453-million property.
Three separate properties in the area were listed, with varying prices. None matched the Deed of Absolute Sale (DOAS) presented by Samal City’s acting Register of Deeds Marco K. Pineda.
“Nothing in this SALN matches the DOAS,” Mr. Pineda said. | @bworldph
House prosecutor Jonathan Keith T. Flores moves onto his direct examination of Samal City’s acting Register of Deeds Marco K. Pineda.
Mr. Pineda will testify on a separate property registered to Manases R. Carpio, the husband of Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The land is located in the Island Garden City of Samar, Davao Del Norte, and was purchased in 2018 for about P3.45-million.
Like with a P6-million property in Barangay Matina, the Prosecution seeks to establish that the Vice-President failed to declare the real estate acquisition in her SALNs. | @bworldph
Presiding officer and Senator Francis Joseph G. Escudero says there is no “one-to-one” match for the Barangay Matina property in the 2025 statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) of Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio.
“The problem with the SALN is that it does not require the actual area to be stated, it only makes mention of the area, sometimes it’s even redacted,” Mr. Escudero said. “However, in the 2025 SALN of the Vice-President, there is no mention of a sales a new property to Atty. Mans Carpio in the amount of P6-million.”
Davao City Register of Deeds Kathy Florence M. Baldonado agreed. “Nothing matched… [whether] in price, place, or mode of acquisition,” she said. | @bworldph
House prosecutor Jonathan Keith T. Flores begins his direct examination of Davao City’s Register of Deeds Kathy Florence M. Baldonado.
Ms. Baldonado will testify on a 379 square meter property in Barangay Matina, Davao City. The property is registered to Manases R. Carpio, the husband of Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio, and has an estimated worth of P6-million
“We can say that P6-million is a small sum—but for an ordinary Filipino, this is already a large amount,” Mr. Flores said. | @bworldph
