NO household trash
NO furniture
NO construction debris
NO appliances
NO other waste
Items other than green waste and tires will be turned away.

The CA Board of Forestry and Fire Protection subcommittee released an updated draft of Zone 0 defensible space regulations. The draft includes a phased 5-year implementation prioritizing education and outreach.

4 members of our Board of Directors spent 2 days learning to be Defensible Space Assessors. Cal Fire training was great. We will be able to do home assessments soon. Contact info coming soon. Always working to keep our community fire resilient.

🔧 Home Safety Upgrade 🔥

Today I replaced all of my smoke detectors—and I learned something important along the way.

The older ones were still working… but they weren’t up to today’s safety standards.
So I upgraded to new hardwired, interconnected alarms with 10-year batteries—no more middle-of-the-night chirps or forgotten battery changes.
✨ What I installed:
• Smoke alarms in each bedroom
�� Smoke alarm near the kitchen (to reduce false alarms)
• Smoke + Carbon Monoxide detector in the main living area

💡 Why it matters:
When one alarm goes off, they ALL go off—giving you and your family more time to react.
And with carbon monoxide detection, you’re protected from something you can’t see or smell.
⚡ The best part?
With the right adapter, it was basically plug-and-play. No rewiring needed.
This is one of those projects that isn’t flashy—but it might be the most important upgrade you can make in your home.
👉 If your detectors are older or you’ve never replaced them… this is your sign.

Parking lot challenges makes a change of venue at this months meeting. Our April meeting will be this Thursday at Modjeska fire hall.

Today, firefighters and fuel crews are planning a prescribed burn along North Main Divide and Bedford Peak road, near the Bedford peak on the Trabuco Ranger District. Smoke may be visible from the 15 FWY and the Corona community area.

Please do not report smoke in these areas.

OCFA offers a free Home Assessment Inspection at your home. Immediate Zone (0-5') regulations are coming soon. Legislation is still being worked on. Call for an inspection at the # in the flyer.

Our next general meeting will be this Thur night at 7pm at the Modjeska fire station. It should have been at Silverado, but the parking lot is still closed.
