My rules for staying sane on Twitter:
1) Block accounts who are jerks to you OR others in their mentions
2) Be polite (not a jerk!) to people in their mentions even when disagreeing
3) Try to follow people who have thoughtful/distinct takes, but also arnt jerks
LA is another jurisdiction I'm glad I don't have to make the choice of who to vote for.
A failed NIMBY mayor, a socialist, and a reactionary? No thanks.
@StatisticUrban If you had to make 2020/2016 comparisons, El-Sayed is the Bernie Wing, Stevens is the Biden/Clinton wing, and McMorrow is closer to Warren/Buttigieg.
@SenatorLuma Sports is a good way to bond with fellow transplants.
Which was endlessly frustrating for someone like me who just really has to put in a lot of effort to care about sports
A lot of people are very conservative about identities they strongly associate with and engage in a lot of gatekeeping.
But part of what makes America and our cities great, is their openness to new comers.
@SethBorman@sp6runderrated I went to a Michelin starred restaurant in Portugal and my favorite part of it was they regularly refilled my glass with cold water
@SethBorman@sp6runderrated Its extremely hard for me to tell how much bad service in Europe is because of (lack of) tipping or differing expectations of service.

@Wilson__Valdez 1) get chicken thighs next time.
2) take a beer use as marinade base. Add garlic powder, , onion powder, worcheshire sauce (or mustard), splash of apple vinegar, splash of olive oil (skip if really want lower calories), added bit of pepper at end, add cayenne if want heat
@ksusys@bdquinn@jbarro I voted in CA from 2002 to 2014. Ultimately I just think CA could do better and not effect 99 percent of voters, but make it 50 percent quicker. Its a choice that CA is slow. Since northam Administration ive never felt VA voting in difficult. But we count lot quicker than CA
100% this. Here are my HR interactions:
1. onboarding
2. layoffs.
3. When I asked them about transferring they told me procedures.
4. Required yearly training.
I never think of HR and consider it a massive red flag if you're dealing with HR all the time.
